Out-patient, polyclinic rehabilitation of diseases, injuries of the musculoskeletal system, neurological, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, as well as in-patient rehabilitation of patients with heart and lung diseases are carried out here.This unit is also centar for balneoclimatology of Republic Serbia. Institute for rehabilitation is certified training centre of the European Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR). It is a teaching base of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, in University of Belgrade and Nis, and the basis for the practical teaching of Sports high school and Health Professional Studies - Study Group physiotherapist. This organizational unit has diagnostic services for electrophysiology, cardiology, pulmonology, laboratory and x-ray diagnostics Out-patient, polyclinic service -Electrodiagnostic Service provides electrodiagnostic (ED), electromyographic (EMG) and electroneurographic (ENG) services to identify lesions of the peripheral nerves, the severity thereof, and also to follow-up the recovery.In the ambulatory - polyclinic service for physical medicine and rehabilitation current therapeutic modalities (hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, magnetic therapy, lymphatic drainage, kinesitherapy, etc.) are carried out as well. Also, in the treatment of acute pain syndromes are conducted paravertebral, periarticular infiltration and intrartikularne (rheumatologist). Of our complex programs are ongoing exercise program for osteoporosis and to strengthen muscles in different paravertebral painful spinal conditions In this sense, there are ergometry, spiroergometry, 24h Holter monitoring ECG and blood pressure, telemetry, spirometry and others. As special programs of prevention of cardiovascular disease are permanent control of physical activity, education and control periodic examinations of patients.Also other more diagnostic procedures are performed: laboratory services,x-ray, ultrasound diagnosis.
